Camp Noughts and Crosses

Camp Noughts and Crosses

Backyard Noughts and Crosses

This may be one of the simplest at home camp games ever, plus you can get your whole cabin (family) to play with you!

Step 1- lay out the classic noughts & crosses grid, then collect 2 different objects for your noughts and crosses. These could  be sticks, rocks, leaves, shells, whatever you have laying around.

Step 2- get into 2 teams and place a marker (could be tape or a rope) about 5 meters away from the grid. Put your  noughts & crosses in a pile at the start line (the marker you just made) and  get into 2 lines.

Step 3- On the word go the first person from each team in line grabs one object (nought or cross) and runs towards the grid as fast as possible and places it down. Once that team member is back over the start line the next person can go. Each person must only take one object at a time!

Step 4- Enjoy the game!!

FUN FACT

While some experts believe the game dates back to the ancient Egyptians, others believe it evolved from an ancient Roman game called Terni Lapilli.
